Summary
Summer Game Fest brought the full reveal of gen Atlas, GenDesign’s single-player open-world action-adventure set on an abandoned planet, with launches planned for PS5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X.
GenDesign said players awaken in a vast silent world of colossal structures, deserted facilities and an ever-changing sea, where a colossal robot gradually opens new paths and reshapes the world.
The game is the first full title from Fumito Ueda’s GenDesign since he founded the studio in 2011 after leaving Sony and Team Ico during The Last Guardian’s development.
Project Robot was first teased in a 2-minute trailer at The Game Awards 2024, and the project traces back to a 2020 publishing deal with Epic Games; no release date was announced.
