Summary
NetEase Games and 24 Entertainment Lin’an released a three-minute story trailer for Blood Message and said the game will be playable to press for the first time at Summer Game Fest 2026 Play Days this weekend.
Blood Message is billed as NetEase’s first AAA single-player title, built in Unreal Engine 5 with proprietary tools and centered on cinematic, linear action-adventure gameplay.
Set in 848 AD during the late Tang Dynasty, the game follows a nameless messenger and his son on a 1,000-mile journey to Chang’an, with the trailer highlighting new combat mechanics across deserts and other East and Central Asian landscapes.
The new footage expands on the game’s reveal earlier this week at Summer Game Fest, where NetEase showed cinematic action but did not announce a release date; the title is planned for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
