Three people died and a fourth woman was hospitalized in critical condition after a fleeing vehicle went off a bridge in West Lawn and slammed into a freight train box car.
At about 2:16 a.m. Sunday, Chicago police tried to stop the vehicle after someone inside allegedly pointed a gun at another car, but the driver fled and officers ended that pursuit.
Illinois State Police then spotted a matching vehicle, briefly stopped it, and launched a second chase on South Cicero Avenue after the driver sped away again.
