Travelers at Palm Beach County’s airport voiced mixed reactions Thursday as the official transition to President Donald J. Trump International Airport began.
New signage drew photo-taking from some passengers, while others said they did not realize the name had changed until they arrived and several said it would not affect their trip.
Palm Beach County Commissioner Maria Marino arrived early on the Trump family’s private plane with other officials and described cheers at takeoff and landing during the renaming event.
Marino called the change a milestone for Palm Beach County regardless of political views, underscoring the broader symbolic weight of the new name.
