DJT became Palm Beach International Airport’s FAA locator on Thursday, officially putting the Donald J. Trump renaming into operational use for pilots, controllers and flight-planning systems.
PBI will still appear in passenger booking, baggage and travel systems until Aug. 18, when IATA is scheduled to shift the commercial airport code to DJT in a phased rollout.
Palm Beach County said flights, schedules and airport services will continue normally because the change is a branding transition, not a shift in ownership, governance or airport operations.
Florida’s March 30 law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis required the renaming, while signage is being replaced over time and officials said local property taxes will not fund the transition.
