250,000 special 2026 Declaration of Independence quarters with a "July 4th" privy mark will be released into general circulation, with the U.S. Mint saying they will be randomly mixed with standard quarters.
The coins will carry no mint mark and will be distributed to banks and financial institutions nationwide in time for the Fourth of July, making them discoverable in everyday transactions.
The quarter is one of five semiquincentennial 2026 designs; the series also includes Mayflower Compact, Revolutionary War, U.S. Constitution and Gettysburg Address quarters.
