Apple Ships AirPods Max 2’s First Beta Firmware in 9.0.304 Rollout

AirPods Max 2 received its first beta firmware update after Apple released iOS 27 beta 2 and macOS 27 beta 2, extending AirPods beta support as previously promised.
Version 9.0.304, build 9A5304b, also went to AirPods Pro 3, both AirPods Pro 2 variants, AirPods 4, and AirPods 4 with ANC.
Apple said users on iOS 27 beta or macOS 27 beta can enable AirPods beta updates from Bluetooth settings, with firmware installing automatically when the earbuds or headphones are charging nearby.
WWDC26 previewed upcoming AirPods features tied to these betas, including custom EQ and Apple GymKit syncing.
