Deborah Ann Woll said she will star as Laufey in Santa Monica Studio’s next God of War title, confirming the game will shift focus from Kratos while running alongside the Norse saga timeline.
Nearly 10 years of planning underpins the project: Woll said Cory Barlog pitched it to her in 2018 and already had a Laufey poster tied to lore elements from God of War 2018.
Woll described the game as a “new direction” meant to answer lingering questions from the Norse arc, while stressing classic Kratos-led entries will continue.
H1 2027 is the current target, according to insider Nate the Hate, and the game is expected to launch only on PlayStation rather than later expanding to PC.
