Summary
2,068 child sexual abuse material complaints were logged in 2026, up 29.57% from 1,596 in 2025, as Arkansas State Police’s ICAC Task Force urged families to tighten online safety measures.
Summer and the start of the school year historically bring the biggest jumps in online enticement cases, prompting the task force to stress proactive education, vigilance and open communication.
Arkansas also reported 150 blackmail-sextortion cases in 2026, 944 pre-travel enticement cases and 7 suicide-threat cases, while child sex trafficking cases fell to 1 from 2.
The task force told parents to review privacy settings, update passwords, enable multi-factor authentication, learn AI-safety basics and report suspicious activity through official cybercrime and exploitation portals.
A free webinar, "Video Games and Your Child: Spotting Red Flags and Staying Safe Online," is being offered as part of National Internet Safety Month outreach.
