Clark County Seeks Adult Charges on 17-Year-Old in 3-Horse Las Vegas Stabbing Case

Clark County prosecutors said Tuesday they want the teenage suspect in the Las Vegas barn attack tried in adult court after three horses were allegedly stabbed with a sharp object.
Police booked the girl on 12 counts of willful or maliciously killing, maiming or torturing a horse and three felony property-destruction counts over $5,000; the horses survived but were unable to compete.
Las Vegas police said the suspect was in town for an equestrian competition, had access to the barn and was taken into custody at a nearby hotel after the early Saturday attack.
The teen is due back in court Thursday, and a separate hearing will determine whether the case moves to adult court.
One horse owner called the attack devastating and said the suspect had followed her on social media and tried to meet her and her horse at last year's event.
