A 22-year-old woman was arrested Monday afternoon after a 28-year-old man was found stabbed in the neck near a Beaumont Avenue home in Massapequa and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said a 911 call came in around 1:30 a.m.; sources said the woman fled after the attack, prompting a search that drew a heavy police presence in the neighborhood.
Authorities have not released either person's identity or said what relationship, if any, they had, and the homicide investigation remains ongoing.
Neighbors said they knew the victim well and were shocked by the killing in what residents described as an unusually quiet area near Merrick Road and Massapequa High School.
