Asian Paints shares rally 2.80% and outperform rivals

The stock rose to 2,600.25 rupees on Friday as the BSE Sensex fell 0.66% to 77,328.19 in a broadly weak market.
Asian Paints beat peers including Shalimar Paints, down 1.89%, Jenson & Nicholson, down 4.83%, and JSW Dulux, down 0.57%.
Despite the gain, the shares closed 12.90% below their 52-week high of 2,985.50 rupees reached on 4 December, while volume of 112,076 topped the 50-day average of 73,570.
