Summary
Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, gunfire on the 900 block of North Central Park Avenue in Chicago's Humboldt Park wounded six people, with two men left in critical condition.
Dispatch traffic captured callers reporting about 30 shots, multiple victims on the ground and a drive-by attack, while one wounded person reached Humboldt Park Health without waiting for responders.
More than 100 people had been at a block party that neighbors said appeared peaceful before the shooting erupted, and police said they have no public information yet on a motive or suspect.
HSI is now coordinating rapid mental-health support for victims and residents, saying the violence could retraumatize a community already carrying earlier trauma.
