Summary
iOS 27 expands iCloud across Home, Photos, Siri, Journal and Passwords, with the biggest upgrade bringing AI-generated HomeKit camera summaries, searchable event descriptions and multi-camera activity pairing.
Those Home features require iCloud+ at 2TB or higher—starting at $9.99 a month in the U.S.—plus a home hub and an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone such as the iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
Photos gets faster uploads, a 24-hour priority sync toggle and broader sharing, including full-resolution Shared Albums that Android and Windows users can now upload to.
Siri conversations now sync across Apple devices through iCloud, while the Passwords app can use Apple Intelligence to repair weak passwords via iCloud Keychain and Safari.
Apple also said some Apple Intelligence daily limits can be raised with most iCloud+ plans; iOS 27 is already in beta and is due for a September release.
