The ranking is based on the U.S. Labor Department’s Uniform National Threshold Entered Employment Rate, which measures how effectively states deliver veteran employment services.
State officials said programs such as resume assistance, military-to-civilian skills translation, outreach for disabled veterans and employer matching help serve Wisconsin’s roughly 300,000 veterans.
Ahead of National Hire a Veteran Day, the state also said applications for its 2026 Vets Ready Employer recognition remain open through July 31, with winners due in November.
