Hotels and cruises for the August 12 total solar eclipse are not fully gone yet, with experts saying travelers can still find rooms and cabins along the path of totality if they book quickly.
More than 20% more United flight searches to Reykjavik in July and Hotels.com search gains of 115% for Valencia, 75% for Mallorca and 25% for Reykjavik show last-minute demand is accelerating.
Spain and Iceland remain the main targets: totality crosses western Iceland, northern Spain, Greenland and part of Portugal, with listed hotel prices starting around $285 in Valencia and topping $600 in Reykjavik.
Travel advisers urge booking beyond major cities, checking cancellations and free-cancellation rates, and weighing transport limits—especially in Spain near sunset and in Iceland, where sparse roads could snarl eclipse-day travel.
Cruises still offer another route, with remaining cabins priced from $2,280 to $29,590 and the added advantage that ships can reposition for clearer skies.
