An open-ended PCIe x4 slot is aimed at expansion, and Framework demonstrated a two-desktop concept using dual 50 GbE NICs and RoCE to pool 384GB of memory for tensor-parallel AI workloads.
Framework also plans a prebuilt Linux version, but said rising LPDDR5X costs will make the 192GB model notably pricier than its existing 128GB systems.
Pricing was not announced, though the report expects the desktop to top $5,000 later this year, versus about $3,500 for current MAX+ 395 models and roughly $5,000 for Nvidia’s 128GB DGX Spark.
