Miami-Dade schools police arrested Terrod Torrence, 36, on Tuesday and Odiria Biggins on Monday after a July 17 confrontation at The SEED School of Miami escalated from a private meeting into violence.
Biggins told investigators Torrence punched her repeatedly, slammed her head into a wall and knocked her unconscious inside Classroom 119, according to an arrest affidavit.
After regaining consciousness, Biggins allegedly retrieved pepper spray from her vehicle, found Torrence elsewhere on campus and sprayed him; surveillance video reportedly showed the encounter, and he was later treated at a hospital.
Biggins was charged with discharging a weapon on school property and misdemeanor domestic violence battery, while Torrence was charged with misdemeanor domestic violence battery; both received $2,000 bonds, and Torrence was ordered to have no contact with her.
Authorities have not said what triggered the dispute, whether students witnessed it or whether either teacher still works at the charter boarding school; Torrence's arraignment is set for Sept. 23.
