Zlatan Ibrahimović used Fox’s postgame show after Spain’s 1-0 World Cup final win over Argentina to declare his studio stint over, calling it his “first and last time.”
The 44-year-old’s exit surprised observers because his debut run with Rebecca Lowe, Thierry Henry and Alexi Lalas drew strong reviews despite his lack of traditional broadcasting experience.
Fox did not comment on his future, but the timing could strengthen Ibrahimović’s leverage as networks and streamers have yet to settle who will hold 2030 World Cup rights.
Fox still has two years before its next major soccer showcase, Euro 2028, leaving room for the network—or a rival bidder—to try to bring him back.
