Summary
Sunday evening rain in Nashville forced the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix off the track and onto a Monday restart at Nashville Superspeedway.
Monday’s race was shortened to 225 laps from 300 after INDYCAR cited forecast record temperatures and a heat index above 100 degrees.
The event had already been pushed back Sunday because the World Cup final ran into extra time before weather extended the delay into a postponement.
Officials said race procedures otherwise stay the same, including the tire rule requiring one set of primary Firestone Firehawks and two sets of alternates.
