INDYCAR trimmed Monday’s rescheduled Music City Grand Prix from 300 laps to 225 after forecasting record temperatures and a heat index above 100 degrees at Nashville Superspeedway.
Sunday evening storms had already pushed the race to 3 p.m. ET Monday after a downpour halted track drying in Middle Tennessee.
All other race procedures stay in place, including the tire rule requiring at least one set of primary Firestone Firehawks and two sets of alternates.
Kyle Kirkwood will lead the 25-car field to green in the No. 27 Andretti Global Honda, and the 1.33-mile oval also hosted a 225-lap race last year.
