The handheld launches in China first, where local sourcing, shorter logistics chains and direct domestic sales can reduce costs. The initial CNY 749 price rising later to CNY 799 also suggests an early-batch or promotional strategy rather than a permanently comfortable margin. The trade-off is obvious: this is not a premium handheld. The tiny RAM and storage, single-stick layout and likely thin margins mean Game Kiddy is hitting $110 by targeting low-end retro use very precisely, not by escaping the memory crisis altogether.
