More than two weeks after Sony said PlayStation discs will stop being manufactured after 2028, pro-disc fans are still swarming the company’s YouTube uploads with protest comments.
Family titles are the main exception: PlayStation already disables comments on kid-friendly game trailers, shielding posts such as Instant Sports 2 from the backlash.
Other July 16 uploads—including trailers tied to Fortnite updates and smaller releases like Pro Jank Footy—were flooded with physical-media messages instead of game discussion.
The spillover has hit third-party and newly launched games as well, showing the protest has widened from Sony announcements to routine promotion across PlayStation channels.
