Summary
$130 million in new Series C funding values Indian AI coding startup Emergent at $1.5 billion post-money, a fivefold jump from its $300 million valuation in January.
Creaegis led the round, with MNI Ventures-Claypond, Sentinel Global, Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed and Y Combinator participating, lifting total funding to $230 million.
$120 million in annualized revenue and more than 200,000 paying customers helped underpin the raise, with North America and Europe each contributing about a third of sales while India accounts for 8% to 9%.
Emergent is targeting entrepreneurs and small businesses rather than developers alone, positioning itself against Replit by offering deployment, hosting, testing and debugging alongside code generation.
The startup plans to use the cash for product and AI-agent research, support more complex apps including open-source and local models, and add 30 to 40 staff in San Francisco while weighing a Europe office.
