Techland said PS4 players expecting Dying Light: The Beast will get refunds after the studio scrapped the last-gen version.
The reversal stems from Dying Light 2's season pass, which promised 2 DLC packs; the second evolved into The Beast as a standalone release.
PS5 Ultimate Edition owners still received access, but Techland said bringing The Beast to PS4 would have compromised the experience because of technical development limits.
The move leaves last-gen players without the game and echoes an earlier series decision, when the first Dying Light dropped its planned PS3 version before launch.
