UK Re-arrests 28-Year-Old in Ann Widdecombe Killing on Terror Charges

Counter-terrorism police took over the Ann Widdecombe murder case after a 28-year-old man was re-arrested on suspicion of committing, preparing or instigating acts of terrorism.
Thursday’s killing of the 78-year-old Brexit figure at her Devon home is now being examined under multiple lines of inquiry, Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said, with Parliament due to be updated later Monday.
CCTV released after a nationwide manhunt appeared to show the suspect in Rotherham, about 270 miles from the crime scene, carrying what looked like a wooden baton before his arrest late Saturday.
Sources told The Sun Widdecombe died from severe blunt trauma to the head; her assistant found her body around 11:30 p.m., though police believe she had been dead for nearly 11 hours.
The killing has drawn cross-party condemnation, with Keir Starmer calling it a huge loss and urging unity with Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Reform UK founder Nigel Farage.
