The 78-year-old former Conservative minister was found dead on Thursday at her home in Haytor with serious injuries, triggering a manhunt that ended about 270 miles away in South Yorkshire.
Police said there is nothing so far to suggest a political motive, remain open-minded on why she was killed, and do not believe there is a wider threat to the public.
