Summary
Britain and Switzerland said Monday they had completed negotiations on an updated free-trade agreement, ending more than three years of talks between Western Europe’s two biggest non-EU economies.
The pact builds on a 2023 financial services agreement and is designed to make cross-border business easier in finance, technology, pharmaceuticals and legal services.
£5.2 billion in annual UK services exports could be unlocked under the deal, which also includes 90-day visa-free access for service professionals, airport e-gates and the removal of roaming charges.
The agreement deepens ties between two countries outside the EU and shifts the trade relationship further toward services and worker mobility.
