Summary
Square Enix released native Nintendo Switch 2 digital versions of Octopath Traveler 1 and Octopath Traveler 2 on Monday, announcing both during the series’ eighth-anniversary live stream.
Both RPGs were already playable on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, so the new editions appear aimed at native support and likely technical upgrades such as higher resolution.
Square Enix has not yet detailed feature changes for either release, but said the underlying game content should remain the same.
The launch expands the series’ Switch 2 lineup after the system also received a native version of Octopath Traveler 0.
