Trump agreed on CNN's "State of the Union" to a broader follow-up interview with Jake Tapper after a phone appearance focused on Sen. Lindsey Graham's death.
Tapper invited him back after Trump declined to answer several questions on the latest U.S. military action against Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, saying he would not discuss them out of respect for Graham.
Trump set no date and gave no format for the return appearance, but said his administration was trying to have CNN go on a "normal path."
During the call, Trump said Graham had sounded merely tired after returning from Ukraine and called his 2018 defense of Brett Kavanaugh a top-10, possibly top-5, Senate moment.
