Bulgaria's July-August Stays Reach 43.4%, Ranking Second in EU Seasonality

Summary
43.4% of Bulgaria's 2025 overnight stays in tourist accommodations were concentrated in July and August, Eurostat said, giving the country the EU's second-highest share.
Only Croatia ranked higher at 54.5%, while Bulgaria also exceeded Greece's 41.6%; Malta, Germany and Finland posted the lowest top-two-month shares at 21.9%, 24.0% and 24.1%.
Bulgaria's weakest month was December, when overnight stays were 6.2 times lower than in August 2025, underscoring a sharp summer peak.
Across the EU, July and August accounted for 31.1% of 2025 overnight stays in Eurostat's first harmonised tourism sustainability indicators, which track seasonality alongside environmental and social pressures.
