Samsung is rumored to add a new 16MP front camera to the Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra, while extending Privacy Display across the full S27 lineup.
Those changes come as Apple is rumored to raise iPhone 18 battery sizes again, with the iPhone 18 Pro Max tipped at 5,425 mAh versus 5,000-5,200 mAh for the Galaxy S27 Ultra.
Battery pressure is especially sharp because Samsung's Ultra line has stayed at 5,000 mAh since 2020, while charging upgrades have also lagged — the base Galaxy S remains capped at 25W wired charging.
Samsung's foldables face a similar gap: the Fold 8 wide model is rumored at 4,800 mAh, while Apple's first foldable is tipped to carry a 5,500 mAh battery.
None of the S27 changes are confirmed, but the rumors suggest Apple's spec push could force Samsung to spread premium features more broadly after years of incremental upgrades.
