Summary
More than 100 hours of Navy and Air Force search efforts over 14,000 square miles ended Sunday without finding the crew member missing since an MH-60 Sea Hawk crashed on July 1.
Three other crew members were rescued soon after the helicopter made an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea during a routine patrol and were reported in stable condition aboard the carrier George H.W. Bush.
Military officials said the helicopter was not brought down by hostile fire, and investigators are still examining what caused the crash.
The sailor's death raises to 14 the number of U.S. service members killed in the war against Iran; Central Command says more than 400 have been injured, with over 90% returning to duty.
