Summary
Three of four crew members from an MH-60S Sea Hawk were pulled from the Arabian Sea after an emergency water landing early Wednesday, leaving one aircrewman still missing.
U.S. Naval Forces Central Command said the rescued sailors are in stable condition aboard the USS George H.W. Bush and there is no indication the helicopter was brought down by hostile action.
The helicopter was assigned to the George H.W. Bush, which has been in the Middle East since late April and is one of two U.S. aircraft carriers still in the region.
The crash adds to a string of U.S. aircraft losses in the theater: Congress was told by mid-May that 42 fixed-wing or rotor aircraft had been lost in Operation Epic Fury, not including an Apache ditching in early June whose two crew were rescued.
