Summary
Nov. 13, 2026 is the opening date for Endeavour’s permanent display at Los Angeles’ Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, where the retired shuttle will stand in launch position.
The 200,000-square-foot museum addition will pair Endeavour with its solid rocket boosters and external tank, plus about 100 aerospace artifacts and a 140-foot gantry elevator simulating astronaut boarding.
Endeavour has been at the California Science Center since 2012, but only in a horizontal display after a slow 12-mile trip from Los Angeles International Airport.
Built after the 1986 Challenger disaster, Endeavour flew from 1992 until its 2011 retirement, supporting satellite work, Hubble servicing and International Space Station missions.
