Summary
iOS 27 gives Siri a more human-sounding voice through generative audio models, with the new version currently limited to iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air.
Beta 2 users can enable it in Settings by choosing “Try the New Siri,” after joining Apple’s developer beta program if they have not used Apple betas before.
Apple also added voice controls for regional dialects, gender, pace and expressivity, though the pace and expressivity sliders may still be greyed out as “coming soon.”
The rollout builds on Apple’s broader iOS 27 push to use Siri AI and Apple Intelligence as an upgrade draw, while keeping some headline features tied to newer iPhones.
