Twenty-two young people aged 16 to 24 were recognized at Oxfordshire County Hall for securing internships with local businesses, with some already moving into paid employment.
Supported internships and the government-funded Connect to Work programme pair placements alongside college study with dedicated one-to-one support for residents with learning or physical disabilities and long-term health conditions.
Award winners included a Connect to Work participant now thriving in a customer service role and a Supported Intern of the Year praised for dedication and strong customer feedback.
Two employers were also honored: The Pub Club for paid hospitality pathways in West Oxfordshire and GXO Logistics in Banbury for creating accessible opportunities and backing the schemes as an ambassador.
