Millions of U.S. babies born between July 2 and Dec. 31, 2026, will automatically receive limited-edition Social Security cards bearing the Freedom 250 logo.
The commemorative cards will be issued only through SSA's Enumeration at Birth program, with no extra paperwork, fees or signup, and will work exactly like standard cards.
SSA said babies born outside the six-month window — and anyone later requesting a replacement or duplicate card — will get the standard version instead.
