Lamborghini Reveals 2027 Urus SE Performante Interior, Confirming 801bhp Hybrid-Only Shift

Q: With 1,100+ hp electric SUVs looming, can Lamborghini's 801 hp hybrid Urus still claim the performance throne?

Not outright on raw numbers, but still credibly in the top tier on real-world performance. The 2027 Urus SE Performante makes 801 hp and 737 lb-ft from its plug-in hybrid V-8 system, with a claimed 0-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds, more than 30 miles of EV range, and a 312 km/h top speed. That is enough to keep it among the fastest production SUVs, but horsepower alone is no longer the whole story in this segment. Rivals are already shifting the benchmark. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric is expected to arrive with about 1,139 hp and a claimed 0-60 mph time of 2.4 seconds, while Ferrari is preparing an EV with more than 1,000 hp. On paper, those vehicles would likely beat the Urus in straight-line acceleration and headline power. Lamborghini’s answer is to compete on a broader definition of performance. The Urus SE Performante gets major chassis and aero work: a new dual-chamber air suspension, 55 percent less body roll, 16 percent more downforce than the prior Performante, lower drag, stronger brakes, weight savings from carbon fiber, and a new Rally mode. Those changes matter for repeatable speed, braking, cornering, and driver engagement, not just launch figures. So the Urus can still make a strong claim as a “super SUV” performance leader, especially if the measure includes handling, sound, hybrid usability, and all-around dynamics. But if the throne is defined strictly by peak horsepower and quickest sprint times, 1,100-plus-hp EVs are poised to take it.
