Summary
About 450 Oneida County youth ages 14 to 18 are being placed in summer jobs at parks, recreation centers and community programs across the county.
Most participants will work 15 to 20 hours a week for four to six weeks, with placements including Adirondack Central School District, Johnson Park Center and People First.
County Executive Anthony Picente said the program is aimed at at-risk youth, giving them a chance to build teamwork, communication and critical-thinking skills.
New York State funds the program, which is open to teens who meet age and income requirements.
