Apple Releases iOS 26 With Liquid Glass Redesign Across 6 Operating Systems

iOS 26 is now available with Apple’s first major iPhone interface overhaul since iOS 7, replacing older visuals with a translucent “Liquid Glass” design built around rounded controls and content-first navigation.
The redesign also unifies iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, TV and Vision Pro software under one numbering system and shared visual language, with developers getting tools to extend the look into third-party apps.
Apple paired the visual shift with broad feature updates, including Live Translation in Phone, Messages and FaceTime, Call Screening and Hold Assist, a new Games app, smarter Shortcuts and upgraded Wallet travel and payment tools.
Hardware-linked additions include 25W Qi 2.2 charging for iPhone 16 models, studio-quality recording and camera remote controls for AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2, while Apple Intelligence features still require iPhone 15 Pro or newer.
Apple is already testing iOS 26.6 after releasing iOS 26.5.1 on June 1, and says iOS 27 is due this fall with work underway on software tailored for a foldable iPhone.
