Google has begun rolling out a Gemini connected app on Android that lets users browse the Play Store conversationally and install apps from Play cards surfaced inside the assistant.
Play results can show app ratings and download counts, while follow-up commands such as “Install [app name]” or “Download [game name]” pull up a listing without leaving Gemini.
Gemini also now supports searching for and buying in-app digital items, subscriptions and digital gift cards through Google Play, though in-app recommendations are limited to apps already installed on the device.
Not all apps support purchases through the integration yet, and Google says the compatible app list is still growing as the feature rolls out after being previewed at I/O 2026.
