Libya sold petrol at $0.024 a litre in June 2026, the lowest price in Africa and globally, according to GlobalPetrolPrices.
Subsidies and domestic crude output kept prices lowest in oil-producing states, with Angola at $0.327, Algeria at $0.352 and Egypt at $0.464 rounding out the top four.
Import-dependent economies paid far more, underscoring the divide: Niger stood at $0.876, Nigeria at $0.918 and Ethiopia at $1.059 per litre.
Global fuel pressure had briefly intensified when Middle East tensions pushed crude higher, but a ceasefire helped pull oil back below $90 a barrel, offering some relief to African importers.
