Waymo filed a voluntary recall for 3,871 robotaxis using its 5th Generation Automated Driving System after software let some vehicles enter closed freeway construction zones and keep driving.
Freeway operations have been restricted while the company deploys a software fix aimed at preventing vehicles from proceeding into those closed areas.
