It adds a louder speaker, longer Precision Finding range through upgraded UWB and Bluetooth, Apple Watch Series 9-and-later support for Precision Finding, and the new Share Item Location feature that is especially useful for luggage recovery. There is no clear sign of an immediate replacement. Apple Intelligence does not make AirTag obsolete. Based on what is known, Apple Intelligence is aimed at on-device AI features such as Siri, writing, photos, and system assistance. AirTag solves a different problem: locating physical items through the Find My network. If anything, Apple’s continued investment in Find My suggests AirTag remains part of the ecosystem rather than a casualty of it. At $89 for four, the value is strong. That works out to $22.25 each, well below the $29 single-unit price and far cheaper than buying four separately. For iPhone users, AirTag still has a major advantage in Apple’s vast Find My network and its precise UWB-based locating. The main caveat is platform lock-in. If you use Android or a mixed-device household, rivals such as Tile, Chipolo, Samsung SmartTag 2, or Pebblebee may be more flexible. But for someone already in Apple’s ecosystem, this discount looks more like a good entry point than a clearance sign.
