Summary
iOS 27 brings AirPods a long-requested custom EQ, letting users adjust lows, mids and highs on H2-equipped models including AirPods Pro 2, Pro 3, AirPods 4 and AirPods Max 2.
Siri AI also reaches AirPods through a connected iPhone, but it requires an Apple Intelligence-compatible handset rather than running natively on the earbuds.
AirPods Pro 3 gain the most exclusive upgrades: Precision Finding now works from Apple Watch as well as iPhone, and GymKit can sync heart-rate data to treadmills and indoor bikes.
Apple also reorganized the AirPods settings menu and added Name Recognition for deaf or hard-of-hearing users, with support for more than 50 languages.
Developers can test the features now, a public beta arrives in July, and the full iOS 27 release is scheduled for September.
