Alan Wilson Wins SC GOP Governor Runoff With 68.6%, David Stumbo Takes Attorney General

Alan Wilson carried South Carolina’s Republican gubernatorial runoff with 218,321 votes, or 68.6%, defeating Pamela Evette’s 100,123 votes and 31.4%.
David Stumbo also won a called statewide GOP runoff, taking the attorney general nomination with 172,944 votes, or 55.7%, over Stephen Goldfinch’s 44.3%.
The latest reported totals showed 318,444 votes in the governor’s race and 310,214 in the attorney general contest, giving both winners clear margins as results were finalized.
Down-ballot Republican runoffs were also called, with Don Chapman winning House District 8, Hunter Hackett taking District 96 and Jarrod Brooks prevailing in District 99.
