Three College of Charleston engineering, computing and mathematics graduates are moving directly into next steps, with two taking industry roles and one entering a master's program.
Roger Brown, a mathematics major, joins Travelers Insurance's actuarial leadership program in Hartford after finishing his degree in 3 years and will start an MBA at Northeastern this fall.
Adrian Smith Jr., a systems engineering major, is heading to Tesla's Gigafactory in Austin after a Volvo internship helped steer him toward automotive work.
Sydney Wertz, who studied computer science and computing in the arts, will pursue a master's in computer games technology at Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland.
The college framed the outcomes as evidence that research, internships, faculty mentoring and industry ties are feeding graduates into STEM careers and advanced study.
