If it becomes a scalable tool for advertising and licensing, critics calling it a cash-driven digital resurrection will have a strong case. So far, it looks less like a pure memorial than a carefully managed posthumous franchise.

Sharon Osbourne said an unexpected hospital trip earlier in the week forced her to cancel her June 18 appearance at Hellfest in France, where a statue of late husband Ozzy Osbourne was unveiled.
In an Instagram post alongside video of the sculpture, the 73-year-old apologized for missing the ceremony and thanked Hellfest organizers and artist Philippe Pasqua for the tribute.
Sharon did not disclose the cause of the hospitalization, but she has previously spoken publicly about major health issues including colon cancer, a preventive double mastectomy in 2012 and a 2022 medical emergency.
The unveiling comes ahead of the first anniversary of Ozzy Osbourne's death at 76, as Sharon and son Jack also push plans for an AI avatar aimed at extending the Black Sabbath frontman's legacy.
