That gap exists because the 8 Gbps fiber plan is the internet pipe into the home, while Wi‑Fi performance depends on the router, the client device, distance, walls, interference, and whether the device can use Wi‑Fi 7 features such as 320 MHz channels, 4K QAM, the 6 GHz band, and Multi-Link Operation. Lightcurve rolled out 8 Gig fiber internet in Centralia and Chehalis, offering symmetrical speeds of up to 8 Gbps download and upload across its fiber network.
10 Gig-capable mesh WiFi supports the new tier, which the company said is aimed at rising bandwidth demand from AI applications, cloud computing, ultra-HD streaming and gaming.
Lewis County is part of a broader buildout: Lightcurve had already introduced 2 Gig service in Centralia and Chehalis and is now extending the higher-speed option to more homes.
The launch follows Lightcurve’s recent 8 Gig expansion in Central Washington, including Ellensburg, Kittitas and Selah, as the provider pushes faster fiber service across the region.
